I like this picture, but it looks too close in for me to represent "solitude." Maybe if it was her sitting on a vaster "tableau" with no one around... For me, it evokes an odd combination of attitude and calm reflection. There's a certain "lost in thought" look to her face...
Hi Michael,very nice tone to the b & w, and a very interesting moment to catch. She looks like she's going to turn around and punch you after she's done with that cig. Smoke also excellently captured.
A suggestion: I don't think you could have done anything about this, but the background behind her feels a little busy. I mean, I do like that I can see the anti-freeze powder at her feet, but other details like the fence and things beyond it give me a bit of a claustrophobic feel. This may be a framing issue, or you might be able to address it by lightly blurring some of the background around her in photoshop.
