This is the best monarch butterfly shot I've seen this fall. I think what makes it stand out is the blurred background. There is so much intense stuff going on where they light (in colorful flowers usually) that when it is all in focus there is too much to look at. This is just right, I think.
Thank you, FA! There were so many of these butterflies at the beach Saturday. I hope they make it to Mexico, or wherever it is they fly to in the wintertime (or am I confusing them with birds?).
