My old man's ink

Another spring
since he has been gone
my old man's ink
still not dry
his stamp
on my personality

(I just got up from a very deep nap -- a severe backache kept me home from work this evening. It was the kind of nap where you wake up thinking it's tomorrow morning. Vivid dreams come on the cusp of consciousness and you hurry to write them down on whatever scrap of paper comes to hand before they're completely erased by wakefulness. The words for this poem came to me during that nap. )

Hi LB, g, Kim,

Thank you all! Yeah, sometimes I make more sense when I'm semiconscious. :)

wow nice poem!

I very much enjoy nice naps, I try to take one once day when I have time. My arthritis is killing me today I wish I could sleep right now

Hi Anu,
I know the feeling! :)

Hey Phats,
I hope you're felling better soon...

Hi Greensleeves,
Yes, sometimes I get good ideas while I'm sleeping. Like today, I took a nap (I have the day off) and I dreamed that we can teach ourselves to use our minds like Microsoft Windows -- opening new windows, minimizing others, organizing groups of thoughts like pulldown menus. Very strange.
My back feels better today, thanks, but it still hurts. I must have hurt it at the gym and not known it at the time.
